Wednesday night The Houston Rockets showcased a new addition to the selection of uniforms they will use during the 2009-2010 season.
The alternate uniform is red with gold trim. The red color is not quite the same as their other jerseys and the fabric has a different look and feel.

Houston Rockets center Yao Ming has purchased his financially troubled former club the Shanghai Sharks, Chinese media reported on Thursday.
The seven-time NBA All Star’s investment company signed a framework agreement with the club’s three co-owners who agreed to sell Yao all their shares in the club, Xinhua news agency said.

Yao Ming could miss the entire 2009-10 season and his career could even be in jeopardy, according to a report.
“The realization has hit them that this is grave,” one NBA general manager said.

Yao Ming’s broken foot is not healed and the Houston Rockets say the All-Star center is out indefinitely.
Yao suffered a hairline fracture in his left foot in the Rockets’ second-round playoff loss to the Lakers on May 8.

Hours after center Yao Ming was thought to have suffered only an ankle sprain and might be able to play Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers today at Toyota Center, a hairline fracture was found in his left foot, ending his season.

Houston Rockets Red Rowdies
The Rockets were unhappy with how the Blazers were allowed to manhandle Yao Ming in Game 2.
“They were very physical,” coach Rick Adelman said. “They put their hands on him. They wrestled with him from the top of the key all the way down. It’s up to us to have more patience, to move the ball more. It’s up to him to understand what they’re doing and counter it. … If the officials are going to allow them to manhandle him like they did, we’ve got to find an answer for that.”

Yao Ming recently expressed that he would prefer to remain with the Houston Rockets for the rest of his career. Although, he did not completely rule out the possibility of signing with another team when he becomes a free agent in 2010.
