Tracy McGrady is ahead of schedule in his recovery from microfracture surgery back in February.
“He’s way, way ahead of schedule,” Rockets general manager Daryl Morey told the Houston Chronicle. “He’s already playing. I don’t think anyone could have predicted he would be playing now. He still has a long way to go. There is a lot of rust to shake off.”

Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Tracy McGrady might have played his last game in Houston after the former All-Star underwent microfracture knee surgery last week. His contract is up next year and the team was trying to trade him before it was revealed he needed the career-threatening procedure. At the least, McGrady is looking at a 6-12 month recovery process.

The Rockets, who are still coping with the loss of Tracy McGrady’s season ending injury, apparently have not given up on the 2008-09 season. Houston has moved into negotiations with the Clippers for point guard Baron Davis, a source close to Davis told Sporting News on Wednesday.

However, as the season progressed, multiple injuries started to leave its mark on their record. And after Tracy McGrady told ESPN.com’s Stephen A. Smith that he will miss the remainder of the season to undergo microfracture surgery on his left knee, the Rockets might not even make the playoffs.
NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.
Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court. Therefore, we created this blog to reunite our passion for the love of NBA and basketball across the world.
We hope that you will enjoy our blog. We are intensively working on our coffee breaks to bring you the best rumors that the NBA has to offer.
