Lakers forward Lamar Odom left the team’s preseason win over the Kings on Thursday night because of a leg injury.
Odom limped to the locker room at the end of the first half after apparently getting kicked in the right shin.

One team source confirmed Monday that Lakers owner Jerry Buss, after pulling his initial offer off the table on July 14, is now offering less than the original three-year, $27 million deal that he withdrew when Lamar Odom pushed for a fourth year.

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is optimistic the NBA champions will re-sign key free agent Lamar Odom.
“I’m optimistic that he’ll be back,” Bryant said Wednesday at a news conference in Singapore as part of a six-country Asian tour. “He makes us a much, much stronger team.”

Now that he is a Laker, Queensbridge product Ron Artest is lobbying for the defending NBA champs.
The former St. John’s star says he has reached out to fellow Queens star Lamar Odom, who has yet to re-sign with L.A. and turned down a four-year, $36 million offer. And Artest thinks their home-borough connection will do the trick.

Miami Heat
According to reports, the Miami Heat are targeting both Carlos Boozer and Lamar Odom.
The Heat are trying to sell Odom on a five-year, $34 million contract at the mid-level exception, and a league executive with knowledge of the talks says Miami has also hatched a three-way proposal with the Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies to secure Boozer.
