Kobe Bryant
According to sources, Kobe Bryant is reportedly getting closer to signing a long-term extension with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Reps for the 31-year-old and the team have apparently had “productive meetings” already and the hope on both sides is apparently that a deal will get done before the season starts on Oct. 27 against the Los Angeles Clippers.

NBA general managers predict repeats this season for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The league executives who responded to the eighth annual NBA.com GM survey picked the Lakers to win another NBA title.

Kobe Bryant’s contract extension negotiations were not a central issue at Lakers’ media day, even though Bryant declined to answer questions about it.
Informal negotiations have already begun, and the Lakers are secure in their belief that a new deal will be signed.

A disturbing story was the absurd fine levied against Golden State Warriors forward Stephen Jackson for “public statements detrimental to the NBA.”
According to NBA rules, players are not allowed to request trades publicly. The league, in its statement, pointed out that Ron Artest was fined for such a demand in 2006.

Ron Artest believes that the Lakers can be like the Bulls of the late 1990s.
Artest, who signed a free-agent deal with Los Angeles this summer, grew up as a fan of Michael Jordan.
Cavs Opener!
The consensus among NBA executives is James will remain in Cleveland, mostly because there may not be anywhere better to go.
The big threat was the Knicks. But the declining salary cap likely will not allow the Knicks enough salary cap space to sign two free agents.

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is optimistic the NBA champions will re-sign key free agent Lamar Odom.
“I’m optimistic that he’ll be back,” Bryant said Wednesday at a news conference in Singapore as part of a six-country Asian tour. “He makes us a much, much stronger team.”
NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.
Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court. Therefore, we created this blog to reunite our passion for the love of NBA and basketball across the world.
We hope that you will enjoy our blog. We are intensively working on our coffee breaks to bring you the best rumors that the NBA has to offer.
