Oklahoma City Thunder will announce sometime before Oct. 31 that it has exercised its team option for Kevin Durant’s fourth season.

It allows the franchise to keep No. 35 through 2010-11. Durant will then become eligible for his first contract extension July 1, 2010.

Kevin Durant was not elected to participate in the 2009 All-Star game. However in a recent interview, he revealed that just being mentioned up there with the likes of Nowitzki, Stoudemire, Duncan and West was enough to keep him happy.

Greg Oden

Greg Oden was drafted more than 14 months ago but due to a knee injury, he was sidelined the entire season. As a result, he never got to compete with Kevin Durant for the Rookie of the Year award. That makes Greg Oden eligible for the award this upcoming season and he has officially announced that it is his personal goal to be the next Rookie of the Year.

Wednesday evening Lebron James was benched during a scrimmage game against a select squad of young NBA players after landing on Kevin Durant’s foot suffering a mild ankle sprain.

So far is listed as day to day but today trainers will continue with more tests.
