Joe Smith has agreed to a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks for the veteran’s minimum, a source told ESPN’s Ric Bucher on Friday.

Cavaliers veteran forward Joe Smith wrote a playoff rap for his team last week under his rapping pseudonym, Joe Beast.

A number of NBA players, including Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Tony Parker and Ron Artest, have been mocked for their attempts at a music career.

Tyson Chandler Traded to Thunder

The New Orleans Hornets and Oklahoma City Thunder have completed a deal that sends center Tyson Chandler to the Thunder. The Hornets received forwards Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox, both of whom possess expiring contracts, in exchange for their best interior defender.

According to sources, a trade involving current Sacramento King, John Salmons, will likely happen before the trading deadline on Thursday.

There are a few options apparently on the table from teams such as the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Portland Trail Blazers and the Dallas Mavericks along with a few other teams that have not been revealed. Both Portland and Oklahoma City are believed to be the leaders in the group drawing the most interest from the Kings.

The Sacramento Kings have reportedly been in discussion with the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have expressed serious interest in seven-year player John Salmons.

The Thunder have offered the expiring $4.8 million contract of Joe Smith, although it is not known if Oklahoma City is willing to part with draft picks or perhaps a younger player in return.

NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.

Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court. Therefore, we created this blog to reunite our passion for the love of NBA and basketball across the world.
