Flip Saunders has officially become the 22nd head coach of the Washington Wizards franchise, according to an NBA front-office executive.
The two sides reached an oral agreement last week and, after several days of speculation and suspense, Saunders finally signed his contract with the Wizards last night for a reported four years and $18 million.

The Wizards have zeroed in on Flip Saunders as their leading choice to coach the team next season, and a league source claims that an agreement is imminent.
After another disappointing playoff run, it did not take long until coach Flip Saunders was fired. Unfortunately, it also did not take long until the players started to voice their opinion about their former coach. NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.
Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court. Therefore, we created this blog to reunite our passion for the love of NBA and basketball across the world.
We hope that you will enjoy our blog. We are intensively working on our coffee breaks to bring you the best rumors that the NBA has to offer.
Sincerely,
