Elton Brand is healthy enough to model the 76ers’ new uniforms, but is he healthy enough to endure an 82-game season?
At yesterday’s unveiling of the team’s newly designed threads, those around Brand used some formidable phrases to describe the power forward’s readiness: Teammate Thaddeus Young called him an on-court “monster,” and Sixers president and general manager Ed Stefanski said he was told Brand was “cut like a prizefighter.”

An NBA source has confirmed that 76ers general manager Ed Stefanski wants to trade power forward Elton Brand, last off-season’s blockbuster acquisition.
That same source indicated Brand is unlikely to be traded because he has four years and $65 million left on his deal and has health concerns because his last two seasons ended in injury.

An NBA agent by the name of David Falk told radio station WJFK in D.C. that Michael Jordan, then with the Washington Wizards, did not make the decision to draft Kwame Brown with the top overall pick in 2001.

Now that the 76′ers have made improvements on the court through the signings of Andre Igoudala and Elton Brand, they will look to improve off the court by adding experienced assistant coaches to Maurice Cheek’s squad. It has been reported that Cheeks would like to add coaches who can teach the post up position to their forwards and centers.

Andre “Iggy” Igoudala has signed a contract that will keep him in the city of Brotherly Love for the next couple of years. It has been reported that Andre has agreed to a deal that is worth over $80 million for the next six years and the contract could also include incentives that will allow him to make additional bonuses on top of his base salary.
