Delonte West has left the Cleveland Cavaliers for a second time during training camp. This time, however, his absence was excused.
West was not at practice Wednesday after missing Tuesday night’s exhibition game against Charlotte.

The longer the Delonte West saga lasts in Cleveland, the more opportunity Anthony Parker will get to start for the Cavaliers.
Parker, who was a starter for the Raptors in each of the last three seasons, signed a two-year contract with the Cavaliers this summer.

Although, there was apparently no excuse for the fact that he was a no-show.

“On a personal note, you always hope he’s doing well,” Mike Brown said. “But I have to continue looking forward and coaching this team. Whether it is Delonte or somebody else, if they miss practice and it is unexcused it will be handled internally.”

According to sources, the Cleveland Cavaliers are apparently hunting for another guard to add to the lineup.
The suspension of Delonte West has made this a necessity but it is thought that the team was already looking around before that announcement came since West and Mo Williams were the only proven point guards on the roster.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West was arrested Thursday in Upper Marlboro, Md., after officers pulled him over for speeding on a motorcycle while carrying two loaded handguns and a loaded shotgun in a guitar case.

On Friday afternoon, guard Delonte West and the Cleveland Cavaliers agreed to a multi-year contract. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed but sources believe that it is in the range of $4 to $5 million dollars per year.

To date, Delonte West is still a restricted free agent and has not signed with any team. According to sources, both the Cleveland Cavaliers and West are at a stalemate with all negotiations. Apparently, Cleveland offered Delonte a multi-year deal that will pay him around $4 million per season, but he is looking for a contract that will offer him around $5.5 million per season.
