Celtics free agent guard Stephon Marbury said to The Globe early Friday morning that he does not expect to be returning to Boston after receiving a disappointing one-year contract paying $1.3 million using the veteran’s minimum.

Marbury said his representative, National Basketball Players Association deputy counsel Hal Biagas, called to tell him about the Celtics offer on Thursday night.

The 32-year-old said three other teams, which he would not disclose, are currently interested.

Well he’s not going to get much more then the vetern’s minimum anywhere else. I can’t even think of a place where he could get the contract he desires. There could be a longshot of him signing with Griz/Wolves.

The wizards for one thing will offer him more than the veterans minimum, they are predited to be fighting for a high playoff spot this season…..A player as good as Marbury should never get a degrading offer like the veterans minimum, especialy not from a team that has an over rated starting point guard who is not half as talented or skilled as marbury and has no back up for the loser.

About Us

NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.

Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court. Therefore, we created this blog to reunite our passion for the love of NBA and basketball across the world.

We hope that you will enjoy our blog. We are intensively working on our coffee breaks to bring you the best rumors that the NBA has to offer.
