Carlos Boozer is Staying in Utah

Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer announced on Tuesday that he is exercising his player option for 2009-10.

Boozer will make $12.657 million this season and join the famed 2010 class a free agent next summer.

“We are excited that Carlos has decided to remain with the Jazz,” said Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor.

“We are hopeful he can continue to play at an All-Star level and will have an injury-free season.”

Boozer had been widely expected to become a free agent, but the economic climate of the NBA made delaying his free agency by one season a prudent decision.

NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.

Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court.
