Right now, based on contracts that are going into next season, the New Orleans Hornets have a team payroll of $77.5 million, which is highest in the league.
According to a league source, this is the first time the Hornets have had the league’s highest payroll.
Washington is second at $75.8 million and Lakers are third at $74.8 million.
