Ewing Signs Contract Extension w. Magic

Magic assistant coach Patrick Ewing, the former Knicks legend who has aspirations to be a head coach, told the Sentinel on Thursday he has signed a contract extension with the club.

“I’m coming back,” Ewing said. “I signed it [the contract] a while ago.”

Coach Stan Van Gundy’s other assistant coaches — Bob Beyer, Steve Clifford and Brendan Malone — had re-signed deals with the team that are believed to be one year, plus an option.

Ewing did not receive an interview for a head coaching job, despite several teams looking for head coaches after the season.

NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.

Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court.
