After a first-round playoff elimination that included a 58-point loss in Game 4 to the Denver Nuggets, Hornets forward David West not only expects changes to come this summer, he says they are needed.
Though the Hornets struggled with injuries throughout the season, West said their most glaring problem was not having enough options to turn to other than point guard Chris Paul. With an inconsistent bench, West and Paul had to play extended minutes during the regular season.
They also had little help in the playoffs other than James Posey and Sean Marks off the bench. Even before the playoffs began, there was speculation the Hornets intend to revamp their roster by trading to get under the luxury tax.
Starting center Tyson Chandler, who sat out Game 5 on Wednesday night because of a sore left ankle, could be one of the players Bower may look to move to provide needed depth in the frontcourt.
