Spurs guard Tony Parker says he will not let Manu Ginobili’s ill-fated run in last year’s Olympics deter him from playing with the French national team this summer.
Ginobili aggravated an ankle injury while playing for Argentina last August in Beijing, and eventually required surgery. He missed 43 games this season, including all of the playoffs, while recovering from that injury and others.
After the Spurs’ Game 5 ouster against Dallas, Parker said he plans to go through with his decision to join the French team.
“For me, it will be a little bit different,” said Parker, who turns 27 in May. “Manu is over 30. I’m younger.”
