Mavericks guard Jason Terry has been voted the NBA’s sixth man of the year, multiple league sources said Wednesday.

Terry, who averaged 19.6 points and came off of the bench in 63 of the 74 games he played, is expected to be honored at a Friday news conference.

Coach Rick Carlisle said on many occasions during the season that Terry’s willingness to come off the bench was a key to the Mavericks reaching the 50-win plateau for the ninth consecutive season.

“Most players would want to start and would feel that not starting would probably not be in their best personal interests,” Carlisle said in the season’s final week. “The thing I respect and admire most about Jet is he’s a team guy. He makes it about winning.”

About Us

NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.

Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court. Therefore, we created this blog to reunite our passion for the love of NBA and basketball across the world.

We hope that you will enjoy our blog. We are intensively working on our coffee breaks to bring you the best rumors that the NBA has to offer.

Sincerely,
