Washington Wizards center Brendan Haywood played Wednesday night against Memphis for the first time this season.
“That was a luxury we’ve definitely been missing all year,” Antawn Jamison said of Haywood. “Just his presence in the paint on both ends of the floor means a lot.
Haywood has been out since undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist last October. Washington interim coach Ed Tapscott said the 7-footer came by his hotel room earlier in the day and said he was ready to play. Tapscott was excited about the possibility.
