As the trading deadline approaches, the Suns have been aggressively pursuing NBA franchises for a trade. In fact, Suns owner, Robert Sarver has gotten into the mix by trying to negotiate with the owners of other NBA teams directly.

Grizzlies’ owner, Michael Heisley has acknowledged that he has been contacted in regards to a deal that would include Amare Stoudemire for Rudy Gay, Hakim Warrick, and Mike Conley. “We had conversations,” Heisley said Wednesday, confirming a Yahoo Sports report that Phoenix owner Robert Sarver initiated contact with Memphis. “But there is no deal on the table. I think they’ll go somewhere else.”

Ronald Tillery from the Memphis Commercial Appeal stated that several NBA insiders asserted that Phoenix and Miami would like Memphis to facilitate a deal that would send Stoudemire to South Beach. One scenario has the Griz possibly acquiring Heat rookie forward Michael Beasley in the three-way transaction.

I really don’t see this trade happening, because I doubt Miami will trade Beasley in the end. Pat Riley has already denied the trade that would’ve sent Marion and Beasley to Phoenix for Stoudemire. The more I think about it I probably wouldn’t like Stoudemire in Miami because of his desire to get the ball and lack of defense – that’s not really a good fit in Miami’s system. I would like J. O’Neal, Marcus Camby, Tyson Chandler, or any other similar defensive Center.

Check this short article on Miami’s trade options and tell me what you think: http://miamisportsgen.blogspot.com/2009/02/playing-around-with-miamis-trade.html

About Us

NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.

Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court. Therefore, we created this blog to reunite our passion for the love of NBA and basketball across the world.

We hope that you will enjoy our blog. We are intensively working on our coffee breaks to bring you the best rumors that the NBA has to offer.

Sincerely,
