Washington Wizards Fire Eddie Jordan

Head coach Eddie Jordan of the Washington Wizards was fired today after starting the season with a 1-10 record. Ed Tapscot will replace Jordan as the interim head coach and he conducted his first practice with the team this morning.

Assistant coach Mike O’Koren was also let go and Randy Ayers has been named top assistant coach, sources told ESPN.com.

In September, at the start of training camp, the Wizards picked up a one year contract extension to keep Jordan under contract to 2010.
