The New Orleans Hornets will get to lineup with their starting five intact earlier than expected when they go up against the Atlanta Hawks today.
Tyson Chandler has missed the last two games, including the home-opener against the Cavs, after suffering a sprained ankle during the first game of the season. Peja Stojakovic, in turn, sprained his ankle on the second game of the season against the Phoenix Suns. Both players made speedy recoveries and were able to practice on Tuesday.
“I was pretty surprised when Peja said he was good enough to practice today,” coach Byron Scott said. “To watch him out there, it didn’t look like he had any problems whatsoever. Both of them, we’ll see how they feel tomorrow at shootaround. But right now, I’d say both of them (will play).”
Despite the injuries, the Hornets have won their first three games, the last two by an average of 12.5 points.
