Since being traded to the Denver Nuggets, NBA Veteran Antonio McDyess has yet to suit up in the sky blue and white uniform. In fact, he does not plan to play with the Nuggets anytime in the near future.
Apparently, McDyess is seeking a buyout for his $7 million contract and sources expect that he will settle for a figure around $6 million.
When news broke of the trade, the Nuggets heard that McDyess did not want to play for them due to their shaky history, but had intended to work things out and keep him. Either way, it was looked at as a win-win situation because if they buy him out, the Nuggets will save around $1 million in salary cap space.
There have been rumors stating the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers would like to acquire McDyess, but many believe he will resign with the Detroit Pistons for the league’s veteran minimum.
