Knicks Offered Marbury for Marion

After having dealt Jamal Crawford to the Warriors and Zach Randolph to the Clippers to clear $27 million in salary-cap space for the 2010-11 season, next player on the agenda for Donnie Walsh to move is Stephon Marbury.
Marbury has previously said that he will not settle for anything less than “every penny” of his $21.9-million salary this season. Knicks, on the other hand, would prefer to come to a settlement closer to $15 million.
The sides are expected to meet later this week to, but Walsh would prefer to stay patient and hope to find a trade partner. With that being said, a person with knowledge of the situation said the Knicks have “a standing offer” with the Heat that would involve sending Marbury for forward Shawn Marion. Thus far, the Heat, who have a need at point guard, have declined.
