The Los Angeles Clippers have opened up the new season in terrible fashion. With 9 losses and only 1 win, they currently have the second worst record in the league. To make things worse, before the season started, Clippers were considered to be one of the most improved teams in the West. Especially, after braining Baron Davis and Marcus Camby to Clipperland.
To remedy the situation, several people within the organization feel that a trade will soon be made to shake things up. The problem for the Clippers, unfortunately, is that they can not trade a quarter of their roster until Dec. 15 because they were acquired in the offseason via trade as per league rules.
That only leaves them with one interesting player — Chris Kaman. Kaman has been subject to trade rumors after a report in the New York Post said the Charlotte Bobcats had inquired about the big man. Although, those negotiations died quickly because the Bobcats did not have anything interesting to offer the Clippers.
Since that report, about half the league has called to inquire about Kaman’s availability if you ask coach Mike Dunleavy. But, a source close to the team said, “A 7-footer who can rebound, defend, score and block shots, who comes at a good price? Those guys don’t get traded very often because there are very few around. If you were to trade one, it’d be hard to replace.”
What should the Clippers do with their German player?
