According to inside sources, the Clippers have now officially begun to ponder whether they should trade Chris Kaman or not. With the addition of Zach Randolph last week and Marcus Camby earlier in the offseason, there might not be enough playing-time for three big men who all like to score.
To consolidate the situation, the Clippers have begun to negotiate with the Bobcats about a deal that would send Kaman to Charlotte in exchange for Jason Richardson. Richardson would fit in perfectly in the starting-lineup as the Clippers have failed to find a replacement for SG/SF Corey Maggete.
It has also been reported that Baron Davis is actively pushing for the trade as he is good friends with Jason Richardson and they played well together in Golden State. At the same time, reports coming out of the Clipper-camp also indicate that there is a big disagreement within the organization about Kaman. It is believed that the Bobcats have agreed on the trade and that it left for the Clippers to pull the trigger.
