The New York Knicks appear to be close to landing forward/center Al Harrington from the Golden State Warriors.
The deal will most likely include Knicks’ leading scorer, Jamal Crawford, who is expected to make $8.6 million this season and over $10 million in the 2009-2010 season. Conversely, Al Harrington is expected to earn $9.2 million this season and $10.02 million for the 2009-2010 season. Financially, the deal makes perfect sense because the salaries are within 25 percent, plus $100,000, of each other.
Another option that has been discussed is sending Malik Rose to the Warriors along with his $7.6 million expiring contract. Sending Malik would make the most sense for the Knicks because he currently does not have a major role on the team unlike Crawford.
