Golden State Warrior Al Harrington is demanding to be traded.
According to sources, Harrington feels that Coach Don Nelson is not using him properly and he wants to go to a team where he can be utilized as more than just a spot-up shooter, not to mention play more minutes.
Harrington believes that Nelson won’t change his style and he is ready to move on. Apparently, Harrington felt the same way last year, but kept his trade demands in-house, rather than sharing it with the media.
“I went through it all last year,” Harrington said Tuesday night, pointing out that his trade requests didn’t go public by his own doing. “It all started in the playoffs the year before. It wore on me, you know what I’m saying? I didn’t want to play for him. I told him that this summer. I told (Mullin) that. I reiterated that again to Mully. I’ve told him twice since training camp has started that I don’t want to be here.”
Harrington is set to make over $20 million for the next two seasons and his versatility on the court makes him very tradeable. The Warriors, however, have been clear on only making a trade that will equally benefit them and will not settle for a lesser skilled player.
