Yesterday, we reported that the Charlotte Bobcats signed restricted free agent Carl Landry to an offer sheet. As a result, the Houston Rockets had one week to match the qualifying offer.
Despite three months of slow negotiations between Houston and Landry, it only took the Rockets 24 hours to match the qualifying offer that the Bobcats offered Landry — $9 million over three years.
“I’m happy being back in Houston, a great team that added some pieces to the puzzle,” Landry said. “We had great team last year and with the players we added, I think we’ll be better team this year than last year.
