Atlanta Hawks’ Executive VP/GM, Rick Sund, announced today that the team has exercised the contract options for the 2009-10 season on forward/center Al Horford. Per team policy, financial terms were not disclosed.
One of the most interesting NBA press released today reads the following:
New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh announced today that guard Allan Houston has been re-signed as a free agent.
Yesterday, we reported that the Charlotte Bobcats signed restricted free agent Carl Landry to an offer sheet. As a result, the Houston Rockets had one week to match the qualifying offer.
The Sacramento Kings have signed Dominican guard Francisco Garcia to a five-year contract extension. The deal was first unveiled by Thursday’s edition of newspaper El Caribe of Dominican Republic.
The Charlotte Bobcats have signed restricted free agent Carl Landry to an offer sheet. Houston now has one week to match the offer if they want to retain the services of the former second round pick.
After months of speculation on how Monta Ellis sustained his injury, he finally admits that it did not occur during a pickup basketball game or training for the regular season. Apparently, Ellis was riding a moped at “low-speed” when he injured himself.
For many young athletes making the transition to the pros, usually an endorsement deal with Nike, Reebok, or Adidas also gets included — but not for Brandon Jennings! It has been reported that he has just inked an endorsement deal with Under Armour. Sources have stated, it is a four year, $2 million deal and they will make Jennings the “centerpiece of their emerging basketball division.”
It has been reported that small-forward Hedo Turkoglu is planning to opt-out of his contract with the Magic at the end of next season. However, when asked where he would like to play elsewhere, Hedo was quick to point out that he wants to finish his career in Orlando — the town and team he adores.
NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.
Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court. Therefore, we created this blog to reunite our passion for the love of NBA and basketball across the world.
We hope that you will enjoy our blog. We are intensively working on our coffee breaks to bring you the best rumors that the NBA has to offer.
Sincerely,
