For the upcoming season, the Los Angeles Lakers are in need of making some adjustments to their rotation now when Andrew Bynum is healthy. Bynum was sidelined almost the entire second half of the last season and never got an opportunity to play with Pau Gasol, whom the Lakers acquired after the all-star break.
To accommodate the addition of another big man, Lamar Odom is likely to move from power forward to the small forward spot. However, reports also indicate that he might find himself coming off the bench as a sixth man in case Phil Jackson wants to start Ariza or Radmanovic at the small forward position.
“I don’t hesitate to say that if this team doesn’t work out the way I want it to, Trevor [Ariza] may be a starting player in that first five,” Jackson said. “I may just insert him and convince Lamar to come off the bench if I feel it’s better for the team and we don’t feel as comfortable on the floor as I’d like us to feel.” Phil Jackson said in a recent interview.
