At the first day of New York Knicks’ media day, things were not looking all that great.
To start, the team’s first-round pick from Italy, Danilo Gallinari, will not be ready for lift-off in the near future as he is still hampered by back problems.
Donnie Walsh has also failed to clear any considerable cap-space for the 2010 season — when the Knicks are planning to go after LeBron James. For a while it looked like Zach Randolph was going to be traded to Memphis but the deal is now dead.
And then we have the turmoil with Stephon Marbury. Still to this day, nobody really knows whether he will be part of the Knicks squad or not.
In addition, Eddy Curry has reported in lousy shape for training camp. Sources have confirmed that he now weighs around 300 pounds, which makes him practically useless in D’Antoni’s run-and-gun system. Perhaps, Eddy Curry should have stayed away from all of that seasoned BBQ this summer…
