The Sacramento Kings have signed Dominican guard Francisco Garcia to a five-year contract extension. The deal was first unveiled by Thursday’s edition of newspaper El Caribe of Dominican Republic.
The contract is said to be worth around $23 million over four years with a fifth-year player’s option worth $7 million.
Francisco Garcia is coming off the best season of his career where he averaged 12.3 points, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.3 rebounds. He is now entering is fourth season in the NBA and he is considered to be the future of the Kings’ franchise along with Kevin Martin.
“I am preparing real hard to show everyone, and especially Sacramento, that they made a sound investment,” Garcia said. “I am confident that we are going to do a good job and that we are going to have a good season.
