Daily Illini reports that Utah point-guard Deron Williams may be a part of the U.S. Men’s Olympic Basketball team in London 2012.

Together with Jerry Colangelo, managing director of USA Basketball, Deron was honored at halftime of the Illinois alumni game Saturday night.

“Deron was one of my top picks at point guard because I believed in him,” Colangelo said. “He did the University proud, the country proud. And he wants to continue representing this country going forward, so I’m sure you’ll be seeing him in 2012 in London.”

As one of the top emerging point guards in the league, Deron Williams and Chris Paul could very well end up with another gold medal if they chose to come back for another stint with the already Redeemed Team.

About Us

NBA Rumors was created by three college grads who played Division III NCAA basketball for Berkeley College. Back then, basketball was our life. A day did not go by without us talking about what was going on in the NBA.

Today, we are all working in our respective industries in Midtown Manhattan. And two years after we graduated, basketball started to fall out of our radar as we started spending more time in the office and less time on the court. Therefore, we created this blog to reunite our passion for the love of NBA and basketball across the world.

We hope that you will enjoy our blog. We are intensively working on our coffee breaks to bring you the best rumors that the NBA has to offer.

Sincerely,
