Luol Deng is on the brink of playing his first international basketball game. Great Britain has finally agreed to increase his insurance to cover his lucrative NBA contract and as a result, he will represent the nation at the qualifying games for the European Championship.
Luol Deng was born in Sudan but he moved to London when he was a kid to escape the war in his motherland. Today, he is considered to be Britain’s biggest basketball star and he is their last hope to have a competitive team at the 2012 Olympics on London.
Luol Deng’s first two games will be against Israel in Tel Aviv on Wednesday and against the Czech Republic in London Next Saturday.
