For many young athletes making the transition to the pros, usually an endorsement deal with Nike, Reebok, or Adidas also gets included — but not for Brandon Jennings! It has been reported that he has just inked an endorsement deal with Under Armour. Sources have stated, it is a four year, $2 million deal and they will make Jennings the “centerpiece of their emerging basketball division.”
Jennings has a multi-year contract to play professionally in Italy with a clause that will allow him to opt out at the end of each year. Under Armour’s Vice President, Steven Battista knows that Jennings will be in the NBA one day, and hopefully, his success will help Under Armour penetrate the basketball market.
Under Armour has been making basketball apparel for two years, but this will mark their first sneaker deal with a basketball player.
In addition to wearing the sneakers, Jennings will have his own blog on the Under Armour website that will allow fans to follow Jennings throughout his basketball experience in Rome.
