The Golden State Warriors announced today that Monta Ellis has suffered a severe high ankle sprain and will be out for at least 3 months. Ellis has already been treated with surgery to repair a torn deltoid ligament in his left ankle. Additional information on how Ellis injured himself has not yet been disclosed.
Less than a month ago, Monta Ellis was awarded with one of the heftiest contracts this summer. He is scheduled to earn a flat $11 million each season for the next six years. Ellis is also considered to be one of the most important players to the franchise in Golden State since Baron Davis unexpectedly signed with the Clippers first day of free agency.
