Last season, the Utah Jazz finished 1st in fouls, 24th in Total Rebounds and 22nd in Blocked Shots — not very impressive stats considering the frontcourt trio of Carlos Boozer, Paul Millsap, and Memet Okur. To aid the situation, rumors have been circulating that the Jazz might bring in defensive specialist Karl Malone to a coaching position.
Karl Malone is primarily known as a prolific scorer but one should not overlook his defensive accomplishments. He was voted into the NBA’s All-Defensive first team (1997-99) three times and the All-Defensive second team once (1988).
