Cleveland Wants a Piece of J.R.
Posted by: Stephanie West In: NBA Rumors
The Cleveland Cavaliers have set a target on three-point swingman, J.R. Smith. It is understood that J.R. is looking for more than just the mid-level exception of $5.6 million and if he is dealt to the Cavaliers, it will most likely be a sign and trade deal that will lock him in from four to five years.
However, it does not look as if Denver will let J.R. go. It is believed that part of the reason why they traded Marcus Camby was to free up some salary cap space and sign Smith to a larger contract. Negotiations are still continuing between the three parties.
